Board member and Treasurer
Ellen is a Senior Level Executive with 30 + years of high-performance strategic leadership in the wholesale fashion industry, building and managing multi million dollar major brands. Her expertise is in business growth and development, budgeting and financials. She is known as a creative, resourceful thinker, focusing on incorporating high value innovative initiatives.
She graduated from Hunter College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and studied at F.I.T where she became a frequent guest speaker and volunteered in their student mentoring programs.
Ellen has been a devoted Yoga student for 23 years, studying and practicing at the Jivamukti School of Yoga in New York. She is forever grateful for all the gifts Yoga has brought her, a sense of rootedness, confidence and inner strength, without which she would never have been able to achieve the level of success she has.
Serving on the board of AZAHAR allows her to witness first hand how these sacred teachings shift and elevate the lives of young people in countries of the Global South torn apart by genocide. AZAHAR brings much needed teachings to communities that otherwise never would have had access.
